I've been reviewing my setups since I recently got into competition shooting. A magwell on a pistol does help with tactical or competition shooting, and I've shot with and without magwells, especially those with a wide mouth. The magwell does make a difference in competition and when time matters.
Having used a magwell on a pistol, I wanted to try one on an AR, so I purchased the HRF RCM (https://hrfconcepts.com/collections/new-products-1/products/rcm-rifle-combat-magwell?variant=39288336810173) for my Daniel Defense MK12.
The RCM I purchased is made for MilSpec lower receivers, but they make an RCM version for specific model guns.
The RCM & Fit on a DD MK12
The RCM consists of two pieces and is made of polymer. Where the two pieces come together, seem strong, and fit well.
Installation was not difficult, just tedious, as using the hex key (supplied), each side should be alternatively screwed together a little at a time. Here is the RCM installed on the MK12.

The magwell does fit and function well. This image shows the RCM with the finger guard smoothed down, though not required to make the RCM fit. See this article for further details.
Summary
Does the magwell help with reloads? It does. It's not a ground-shattering improvement, but it helps for me.
Being made from a polymer material, I wouldn't expect it to take a lot of abuse. For me, it will be used on controlled ranges, indoor and outdoor, but not slammed around.
Is it worth $57 (without shipping)? Barely, as $40 is a better price point. Overall, I don't regret buying it for my use.
Remember:
Always keep the firearm pointed in a safe direction.
Treat all guns as though they are loaded.
Keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to shoot.
Always be sure of your target and what's beyond it.
