Savior Rifle Bag Review

I've been interested in backpacks and carry bags, especially for outdoor sports, and being in the IT field, for laptops and tablets. This interest has carried over to firearms

As in the title, I am interested in hiking, travel, and work backpacks. I'm in IT and have used a backpack to carry a laptop, small tools, and work items. When I was actively SCUBA diving and as an instructor, I had bags for gear, parts, and tools. This interest in bags and backpacks has carried over to my hobby with firearms.

I've had many firearm bags, ranging from single handgun rugs, single rifle bags, magazine bags, range bags, and bags that are both carry and backpack.

What attracted me to this bag?

The photo above is the bag I own and as you can see, there is hook-and-loop on the bottom for your favorite patches.

The hook-and-loop panels and straps are among the biggest features that attracted me to this bag. The hook-and-loop supports Savior's many options, such as pistol holster, magazine holster, and bags.

There are videos out there that go through the features of this bag, so I won't go into finer details about this bag, but I will give an overview of my impression and actual use with pictures.

The front top pocket is deep and has elastic holders for pens, tools, or whatever will fit.

I don't remember how I found them, but I had to get one once I saw it. Hail the Savior. Not sure how you'll take that, but as many know, I add some comedy to my posts.

I already own a Savior bag, the Urban Warfare, https://amzn.to/3Eskmzg. It's a double rifle bag with much room and pockets for magazines, range gear, parts, and accessories. The bag can be carried or used as a backpack. My favorite rifle bag!

The bag I'm reviewing in this post is the Savior Specialist Covert rifle bag, https://amzn.to/4cFgSpK.

Let's Review the Features

The front main pocket has a couple of zipper-close pockets and a hook panel for accessories. In this picture, I have the Savior AR-15/AK-47 Mag Holder, https://amzn.to/3GrqVCD.

Behind the front main pocket is a deep hidden pocket with a hook panel for accessories. This pocket is great for concealing additional tools (wink).

The back of the bag has backpack straps with fine details, such as strap loops to contain excess strapping. The backpack straps can be tucked away if they are not needed. Also on the back are carry handles.

The Inside

The outside of the bag is just the beginning. The inside, and with the accessories I have in the photos, is like being a kid and in the first part of Willy Wonka with the candy and the chocolate river.

Seriously, though, with all the hook accessories available from Savior, this is a very versatile bag, and not only for rifles but also for pistols. With this bag, you can have a combination of both!

The main internal section of the bag has a hook fastener on the back, front, and on both sides of a panel that separates them. This panel is removable.

The back side has a strip panel of hook fastener and includes a muzzle cover and a couple of velcro straps. In this photo, you can see a PCC in the muzzle cover and the PCC secured with the straps. Also in the image is the pistol mag holder, https://amzn.to/42PupaT, with the PCC's respective magazines.

The divider panel is secured with quick-connect buckles, and again, the panel is removable.

On the other side of the inside (front side), there's a full-size hook fastener panel and two straps. In addition to the pistol mag holders, this image includes the Universal Pistol Holders, https://amzn.to/44hk4G7. The Universal Pistol Holder works great for many sizes of pistols.

Here's an option with a rifle in place of the pistols and mag holders as shown in the previous image.

Summary

Key Features:

  • Modular Hook-and-Loop System: The bag features extensive hook-and-loop panels, allowing users to attach various accessories such as pistol holsters and magazine pouches, enhancing customization.

  • Concealed Storage: A hidden pocket behind the front main compartment provides additional storage options, ideal for discreetly carrying tools or accessories.

  • Convertible Carry Options: Equipped with backpack straps that can be tucked away when not in use, the bag offers multiple carrying methods to suit user preferences.

  • Spacious Interior: The main compartment includes a removable divider and multiple hook-and-loop panels, accommodating various firearm configurations, including rifles and pistols, along with their respective accessories.

The Savior Specialist Covert Rifle Bag is an excellent choice for those seeking a versatile and customizable range bag that caters to rifles and pistols. I'm very happy with this bag, and although I have the 30" bag, I may order the 38" to have a second.
